Murals in Nashville

Nashville of all places, as it continues to grow, has an expanding culinary scene with multiple restaurants popping up each week, more and more budding and aspiring musicians are moving here to try their fortune to get discovered, much like the fledgling actors in Los Angeles trying to become the next Tom Cruise, or the screen writers trying to make a name for themselves as they wait on tables to make ends meet. Austin Texas, known for the quirky weirdness, music and art scene ( it was Seattle in the ‘90’s with its “grunge” scene i.e. Pearl Jam), well Nashville is rapidly becoming the next “hot spot” with more character and grit than just country music. Country music is still in the fore-front, but even going to the main strip, downtown Nashville on Broadway, you’ll discover that many of the establishments will highlight country bands on the first floor, yet play rock genre or jazz on the upper floors, with a DJ format on the rooftop with mainstream or hip hop playing.

Art is also expanding, as I meet aspiring artists every week, I can’t help but notice the beautiful awe inspiring murals or street art that I come across on my commute to work. Murals in Nashville are everywhere, and it’s free to observe, admire, contemplate and take selfies with.

More and more are popping up each week, the most famous and recognized would be the Nashville Wings in the Gulch by Kelsey Montague #WhatLiftsYou, located on 11th Avenue South near Biscuit Love, behind Taziki’s. Another iconic mural is the “I Believe in Nashville” by Adrien Saporiti located at multiple spots, Clinton Street, 625 Main Street, and 2702 12th Avenue South.
